No new posts until now...

I have not posted in a while, I have been busy. Today my dad stopped by with a clipping from the town newspaper where I grew up. It's called the Time Herald Record dated July 7, 2008.

The clipping talks about all the new businesses in town and how business is booming.

A short list of new businesses from the article:
C&D's Old World Bagels
Mother Earth Nail Spa and Zero Gravity Zone
Racheal's Backdoor Bargins
Pro Automotive
Pine Island Peddler
Pine Island Herb and Spice
Keef's Kiddie Exchange
Get in Gear
Oops I forgot Gift Shop
Jack's Plaza with baker, salon, and design studio

I don't even want to know what backdoor bargins are.

This is the list that makes the paper as a boom. All that is missing from each of the names is "and Tanning Salon". You know the signs you see as you drive through east Jesus and you are so lost that the GPS doesn't even have the road. Well that is where I grew up.

The quote I like best from the article was "It's just such a community. There are no yuppies." That's because we all moved away in the early 80s when we couldn't wait for the "Mother Earth Nail Spa, Zero Gravity Zone, Bagel Shoppe, and Tanning Salon" to open in 2008. "It's a terrific, fast growing area" was another quote from the article. People, I have seen people in walkers move faster than this community. It was crap in the 80s and it looks like nothing has changed.

What I found even more interesting was what was on the back page of this article. Headline: "Windows Vista program lives up to all the hype", it was written by Edison Guzman. Where is this guy from? Is he fresh out of MSE night school? One of the bullets was "Less reliance on IT support." That is because your IT department won't touch it. I personally removed it from two machines that I had purchased. One became a Ubuntu Linux box and the other a Windows XP box. In fact the computer I am using now is Ubuntu Linux. It works great and guess how much the operating system was? Zero, zip, nada.

Edison touts Vista security. How more secure is it than Linux? He doesn't say. I din't find anything he said in the article to be true from my own personal experience. According to the guy in the Times Herald Record, I am wrong. My next plan is to speak with Edison about my terabytes of genomic data that I need to analyze. I am sure there is a Vista program that I can purchase. Maybe Excel 2007? Edison is the chair for the local SCORE.

I scorn and mock them. That was fun. Today has been a great day. Shamoopie and I had an anniversary today and the I received this article from my dad. Awesome! Next I mock Steven Segal..............................again.
